"I love being a BARE ambassador for so many reasons but the main one is because of the amazing support and community network. Having a team of people behind me encouraging me, providing me with the best gear and always backing me is something that helps to give me the security and confidence to strive for my goals. Being able to represent such a kind and terrific brand is a dream come true every day!"

Quick questions with Tanisha

I COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT THIS BARE PRODUCT...

The BARE product I couldn’t live without would have to be the ever-classic BARE Performance Tights! There isn’t a day that goes by when I’m not in my BARE riding tights and they’re perfect for every type of weather, it doesn’t matter whether it’s wet, windy, cold or sunny, you can trust that you’ll be prepared when you’re in the BARE tights. Though there’s a wonderful range of colours to choose from, I’m particularly fond of the Navy & Rose Gold!

MY MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT IS…

My most memorable moment would have to be winning the 2023 Sydney CDI U25 Grand Prix Championship! This has been a long-term dream of mine, so I’ll never forget the thrill that went through me when all the hard work had paid off.

MY FAVOURITE EXERCISE OR TRAINING TO PRACTICE IS…

Though I spend a lot of time working on the basics, I can’t help but love training the piaffe. The beauty of the piaffe, when done correctly, is how effortless it is. You’re in sync with your horse, they’re shaping themselves to your aids and controlling their power. It is a wonderful, weightless feeling.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST COMPETITION DAY TIP OR ADVICE?

Oh, this is a hard one. My best competition day advice is to figure out what went wrong at the competition before and try to just make that one thing improve at the competition. Instead of trying to crack a certain score or get a certain mark, you want to try and improve one thing at the competition. For example, if your horse’s poll was too low at the last competition, focus your day on getting your horse’s poll up in every test. That way, if your results aren’t what you’re looking for, you’ve still managed to work towards a goal that will keep you motivated and make you feel accomplished.

THE LAST THING I THINK ABOUT BEFORE ENTERING THE ARENA IS…

The last thing I think about before entering the arena is remembering to smile! So many people underestimate how much a smile can help in the ring. It is a constant reminder that though we compete to get results, we really do it because we love our sport, and we love our horses. This can be sometimes lost in the pressure of doing our best, so I’ve made a habit of reminding myself to smile and enjoy the test every time I enter at A.

RIGHT NOW I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO…

Right now, I’m looking forward to PSI Dressage and Jumping with the Stars in March and Sydney CDI in April. These are two of the biggest competitions in Australia and nothing can compare to the atmosphere that can be found at these events. I love the thrill and excitement that they generate. It really creates a challenge for me to work towards.

MY TOP 3 BARE PICKS ARE…

My top 3 BARE picks would have to be the:

  1. BARE Horse Wear AIRFLOW Carbon Brushing Boots. For me, finding horse boots that are not only durable but easy to maintain and suit everyday needs can be extremely difficult! With the BARE brushing boots, they are by far the most protective, stylish and tough boots that are around.
  2. Mia Jacket. With the Mia Jacket, I hardly ever go anywhere without it. It is the perfect base layer that is suitable for any type of cold weather. It’s breathable and light which makes it perfect for riding in!
  3. BARE Luxe Sport Saddlepad. As for the BARE Luxe Sport Saddlepads, I can sum them up in three words: eye-catching, comfortable and extremely resistant to wear and tear.
